So far so good.

Big Mama

Happy to report I did not wake up in a mess of Snicker wrappers all hung over from Halloween.  In fact I wasn't really even tempted.  I've been enjoying the scale numbers going down I just didn't want to ruin it.

Let's review:
Week 1 ~ drink more water
Week 2 ~ run 1 mile 3 times a week
Week 3 ~ no mindless snacks

Week 4 ~ Let's see, how can I punish myself this week?  This week I'm going to add Yoga.  Since I work during all the yoga classes at the gym I'll have to do my sweet yoga dvd I have at home.  Hopefully this will help with the tightness I have in my legs and lower back since I've picked up my 1 mile run.  If not maybe I'll add massage to my Just One Change....maybe I'll do that anyway.

Trick or NO treats

Big Mama

I started this post Tuesday night and it went something like this...
"Gonna mark this last week down as a big FAIL!  On Thursday I hit the gym with loads of motivation and with Fergie's help got through my mile without dying.  But then...life showed up and I didn't really have time for the gym, but I'll continue to work on this one."

However after further review and my pants not being so damn tight I'm going to dub this week a "work in progress" not a complete failure!

This week I will be working on cutting out the mindless snacks and bad snacks in general.  This will be especially hard since we're just beginning the holiday season.  I sit at a desk all day and sometimes I have a habit to have sancky food around.  It's funny to see my nieces come into the office because they know there are 2 places to look for the good stuff.  I'll just nibble throughout the day even if I'm not hungry.  Also, watching tv is another bad one for me.  I love snacks with a good movie!

A day late and 3 pounds less.

Big Mama

Yes technically this should have been posted yesterday.  Better late than never, mama always says (that's just a phrase I don't think I've ever actually hear my mother say that).

I'm going to count this as a success even though  after a few days I had to cut back to 2 bottles.  I'm sorry but do know how many trips to the bathroom come with 64 oz. of water a day???

I don't know if it's the water or not but I have noticed I have more energy and I'm sleeping A LOT better.  I did lose 3 pounds this week.  Of course the switch from white to wheat bread and light mayo on my turkey sandwich probably helped.

The agenda for this week is run 1 mile 3 times a week.  This may sound weak considering I usually do 2.5 - 3 miles on the treadmill 2-3 times a week now.  But, here's the thing, I never run a whole mile.  I run/walk
I don't know what it is but I really want to be a runner.  Not like in the marathon sense, but I see people running all the time and they seem like they really enjoy it.  I hate it.  But, I want to love it!

It's benefits are numerous

Big Mama

Change?  I can change.  I've thought about this for a few weeks and I haven't joined simply because I'm afraid of failure.
  Yep!  I'm a big chicken.

But here goes nothing...or  hopefully a whole lot of something.

I joined a gym back in March, yes March.  Yes I still look the same. No I haven't lost a single pound.
That's not exactly accurate I did lose almost 15 at the start, but I'm not counting it cuz it found me again.

I've thought of the many changes I could make:
Give up sweets, I'm not ready.
Give up Coke, I wouldn't make it through the day.
Give up In N Out....Are you trying to kill me?

I'm starting to have second thoughts.  Why is this all about me giving up stuff?
I've decided to add to my diet.  What you say?  That's insane??  I'll never lose???
Well jokes on you because I'm adding water.  Water has tons of benefits, google it.  Google is the source of all truth.  In my office we stock the 16 ounce bottles so I'll just add 3 of these bad boys to my day and that will fulfill my 8x8 requirement.  What's "8x8" you ask?  Well it's recommeded you drink 8- 8 ounce glasses of water per day.

Sounds easy right?  Check back next week to see.
