Reflections of Christ

There was a 'Reflections of Christ' photography exhibit recently on display at the Mesa Temple Visitor's Center in conjunction with the Easter Pageant produced by the Church. The photographer was given permission to photograph Pageant cast members for the exhibit. The photographer worked with a few other individuals to put together a 5 minute slideshow which includes every image from the exhibit set to the hymn 'Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing' by Freddie Ashby. Totally worth checking it out, truly inspiring.

Merry Christmas

I know it's April but I finally cashed in my Christmas present from my brother Ian. He got me Jazz tickets, 7th row, not too shaby bro. Of course he stuck me with his kids so he and Lora could enjoy a date night. It was a lot of fun and I couldn't have picked a better game. The Spurs were in town and and the Jazz just steam rolled right over them. It was a really good game and everyone knows Jazz fans are some of the loudest in the league. Mckenzie wasn't too sure about all the noise and kept covering her ears. Last year Ian took me and mom to watch the Jazz play the Dallas Mavericks and the they pulled out a W then, so we are 2-2. We might just have to make this a family tradition kinda like Nascar weekend in Las Vegas and attend a game every year......well as long as Ian keeps footin' the bill!

Easter Ride

It was a little cold but I managed to get my family out on the trail Easter weekend.(LtoR-Toni, Jason & Christy, Mom & Maddy, me, Melyssa and Clyde). It turned out really fun and we got to see some great views. We went out on Highway 89 towards Utah Hill and turned off at the DI Ranch road. We unloaded a few miles off the main road and rode west towards Gold Strike and Mataqua. It was a little eventful when Clyde rolled his four wheeler out of the back of his truck trying to load it but all was ok. I bought my four wheeler (the red one) 4 years ago this April and I have been so happy with it. By far the best purchase I have ever made.

I only wish I had seen the light sooner.

Yes, I know, I am a redneck! I LOVE NASCAR!!! But ya know what? Everyone loves something, why not fast cars? March 2 at the UAW Dodge 400 in Las Vegas my thoughts were all about my father. It was his birthday, he would have been 65, March 31st will mark 4 years since he has been gone. I miss him so much. He loved nascar and he was one of those dads that would be asleep in his recliner but he knew immediately and would wake up when you changed the channel. I remember hating Sundays and knowing we would be watching these cars go in a circle for hours. But now I am older and wiser. I know about fuel strategy and tire wear and the "big one" at Talledega and Daytona. I know about springs and wedge adjustments and how teams start preparing and building the cars months before they will ever see the track. It is such intricate work. I only wish I had taken the time then to share this with my father. One year after his passing I attended my first nascar race. It has become something I love. From practice on Friday to qualifying and to the checker flag Sunday I can't get enough of it. Then to rehash it all week long about whose driver wrecked who. I have some very fond memories of my father and I love that this sport that I have come to appreciate so much makes me feel closer to him, I only wish I had seen the light sooner.
