Christmas and such

Hope everyone had a great Christmas, I know I did. I haven't had a white Christmas for a few years, not like this year anyway. It was so fun to be home in Enterprise with all the fam and play in the snow.

High school memories...

I got this email this morning and laughed at all of the memories it brought back so I thought I would post it on here.

1. Did you date someone from your high school?
No

2. What kind of car did you drive?
A wrecked Honda Accord or I rode with April in the Big Green Machine

3. Did you pass your driver's license exam the first time?
No I think it was the third, and yeah it shows in my driving.

4. Were you a party animal?
I don't think animal per say but I knew how to have a good time.

5. Were you considered a flirt?
Uh, no. I still don't know how to flirt.

6. Were you in band, orchestra or choir?
No. No. Yes.

7. Were you a nerd?
Not in the pocket protecter, thick glasses sort of way (not that there's anything wrong with that).

8. Were you on any varsity teams?
No

9. Did you ever get suspended/expelled?
No I'm too cool to get caught.

10. Can you still sing the fight song?
Was there a fight song?

11. Who were your favorite teachers?
Hmmmm. Probably Mr. Flannigan cuz he always let me get away with stuff cuz I was FFA Pres.

22. Are you planning on going to your 10-year reunion?
What? Who was this question for? I already had my 10, yes I went and NO to 15.

23. Did you have a job in high school?
I worked for RGIS for a few months my senior year.

Good old high school. I find it funny that as each stage of life passes for me, I am thankful for the changes. I have loved reconnecting with people over the last couple of months from different stages of my life, but mostly I am happy with where I am at now.

This one's for you Matty!!

Headlines:
Michigan Comeback Sparks (Big) House Party
Michigan Shocks #9 Wisconsin
Michigan rallies to shock Badgers
Mighty rally for Michigan

Rich Rodriguez can already claim one of the most memorable victories in the history of college football’s winningest program. Michigan celebrated its 500th game at the Big House with the first big win of the Rich Rodriguez-era. The Wolverines rallied from a 19-point halftime deficit to defeat the Wisconsin Badgers and go 1-0 in Big Ten play. They really needed this one. So, after Michigan turned the ball over for like the 56th time in the first half I was thinking if Matt even dares dial my number I'll fly to Forida and choke him. But, they came out fighting in the second half. Although I'll never be able to look back and remember since the power went out we had to wait for the text updates, IT WAS BRUTAL! Sitting there waiting for the phone to beep to let us know something had happened and it felt like roulette eveytime I pulled up a new message. Was it Michigan? Was it Wisconsin? I was freaking out! I couldn't believe it! I mean 27 points in the second half?! Granted Michigan has A LOT of work to do on this spread offense but this was a spectacular win! At least I think it was like I said the power was out so we'll have to rely on Matt to remember it for us. Love ya Matt!

Summer is almost over....

and thank goodness because I can't take many more of these days over 100 degrees. IT IS SO FREAKIN HOT HERE! Other than the heat life is good. Ian & Lora are finally here. I went to lunch today with Lora and the kids, it was so good to see them even if just for half hour. They are so fun to be around. It was great to be able to see Beth and her kids, Kaitlyn is just the cutest! This has just been a really fun summer. I got my new 88 diecast the other day so I thought I'd post a pic of all my diecasts so far.

Dale Jr. secretly loves me!!

It has to be true! In all my excitement I forgot to post about my boy Junior and his win at Michigan. This was a very special victory not only because it is Junior but it happened in Michigan. Now we all know Michigan is very near and dear to my heart. There is no doubt in my mind Junior willed that car to victory lane for me! I mean seriously he clearly did not have enough gas to finish but he was not giving up. He didn't care that he had to keep passing the pace care under caution (which is a no-no for all you who haven't got a clue about the greatest sport on earth). Nothing short of Nascar showing him a black flag was going to keep him from getting this victory for me. He wanted to win for me! He knew I could not take the ribbing anymore from all my friends and family and I think he secretly wanted me to know he's in love with me. That's right, you read it here first. Drink it in ladies, he's a hottie!! (although spoken for)

Lots to do.....

A lot has been going on lately so hopefully I don't forget anything cuz it has been a fun, busy couple weeks. First Me and Ma took off May 28th to Ian's (hopefully the last time we'll have to make the trip), it is such a long drive up to Roy. We went to Ian and Lora's first thing to see Tayson Kerry Madison, their new addition to the fam. He is sooo cute!

Then we went to Cooper's baseball game. He's only eight so they don't keep score yet but he always does. So then it was a couple days of relaxing and shopping. On Saturday Cooper was baptized. He is such a good kid and such a great example to all the people around him. I am so blessed to have him for a nephew. We went to Golden Spike. Kinda boring (sorry ma). If you ever make the trip there make sure to call ahead. They do a reenactment and a few other stuff but we missed it.

On Monday I tried to have pajama day and just lay around but no one was really cooperating. Tuesday we traveled home and brought Ashley and Mckenzie with us. Wednesday we took the kids to the wizards house at the resevoir and went to visit the hook man but he wasn't home (if these kids ever grow up to be normal after all the tricks we play on them I'll be shocked). Thursday I finally had to return to work but only for a few hours. Thursday night I took all my nieces to "Thursday Night Downtown". It's a little festivity the city puts on at Main Street square. They have food, blow up slides and bounce houses, splash pad, and live music. It is really fun I try to go at least once a month.Paxton didn't really do anything but he is just too dang cute to not include a piture of. He gives the best kisses and is so cute wanting to hold Tayson, telling everyone he's #1, and "so big".

So thats pretty much what I've been up to the last week and a half. It has been so fun! I love my family so much, all of them, and am so blessed to have them in my life.

dinner???

So I've been too busy to really do anything fun lately so I thought I would post this pic of my brother. Jason got a nice Turkey last week and was really excited about it. As you can see it's a beauty. I hope my mom likes it cuz he's getting it fully mounted and it will be keeping her company at home. We're going to have to give it a name. Other than that not too much going on here. Ian and Lora are expecting their new baby, Tayson Kerry, any day now. So I will have some news in a couple weeks when we go up to see him and also Cooper is getting baptized when we are there May 31. Also, Ian got a job in SG so they will be moving home probably by the end of summer.

Reflections of Christ

There was a 'Reflections of Christ' photography exhibit recently on display at the Mesa Temple Visitor's Center in conjunction with the Easter Pageant produced by the Church. The photographer was given permission to photograph Pageant cast members for the exhibit. The photographer worked with a few other individuals to put together a 5 minute slideshow which includes every image from the exhibit set to the hymn 'Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing' by Freddie Ashby. Totally worth checking it out, truly inspiring.

Merry Christmas

I know it's April but I finally cashed in my Christmas present from my brother Ian. He got me Jazz tickets, 7th row, not too shaby bro. Of course he stuck me with his kids so he and Lora could enjoy a date night. It was a lot of fun and I couldn't have picked a better game. The Spurs were in town and and the Jazz just steam rolled right over them. It was a really good game and everyone knows Jazz fans are some of the loudest in the league. Mckenzie wasn't too sure about all the noise and kept covering her ears. Last year Ian took me and mom to watch the Jazz play the Dallas Mavericks and the they pulled out a W then, so we are 2-2. We might just have to make this a family tradition kinda like Nascar weekend in Las Vegas and attend a game every year......well as long as Ian keeps footin' the bill!

Easter Ride

It was a little cold but I managed to get my family out on the trail Easter weekend.(LtoR-Toni, Jason & Christy, Mom & Maddy, me, Melyssa and Clyde). It turned out really fun and we got to see some great views. We went out on Highway 89 towards Utah Hill and turned off at the DI Ranch road. We unloaded a few miles off the main road and rode west towards Gold Strike and Mataqua. It was a little eventful when Clyde rolled his four wheeler out of the back of his truck trying to load it but all was ok. I bought my four wheeler (the red one) 4 years ago this April and I have been so happy with it. By far the best purchase I have ever made.

I only wish I had seen the light sooner.

Yes, I know, I am a redneck! I LOVE NASCAR!!! But ya know what? Everyone loves something, why not fast cars? March 2 at the UAW Dodge 400 in Las Vegas my thoughts were all about my father. It was his birthday, he would have been 65, March 31st will mark 4 years since he has been gone. I miss him so much. He loved nascar and he was one of those dads that would be asleep in his recliner but he knew immediately and would wake up when you changed the channel. I remember hating Sundays and knowing we would be watching these cars go in a circle for hours. But now I am older and wiser. I know about fuel strategy and tire wear and the "big one" at Talledega and Daytona. I know about springs and wedge adjustments and how teams start preparing and building the cars months before they will ever see the track. It is such intricate work. I only wish I had taken the time then to share this with my father. One year after his passing I attended my first nascar race. It has become something I love. From practice on Friday to qualifying and to the checker flag Sunday I can't get enough of it. Then to rehash it all week long about whose driver wrecked who. I have some very fond memories of my father and I love that this sport that I have come to appreciate so much makes me feel closer to him, I only wish I had seen the light sooner.
